Most finance reports the past.
We build the kind that drives what’s next.
For the leaders we work with, that’s the difference between steering and guessing. It's a finance function that connects strategy to planning to execution, so you move faster, own your decisions more clearly, and grow with confidence instead of crossed fingers. That’s what PlusPoint builds. And we didn’t arrive at it in a strategy session. We lived our way here.
We started by bringing what only the big companies had.
PlusPoint began in 2010. Mike Temple, a seasoned Portland CFO who’d worked in companies of every size, couldn’t stop noticing the same unfair gap:
- Big companies had finance that helped them see clearly and act with confidence
- The emerging and growth-stage companies working just as hard had nothing close
- The talent that made the difference was out of reach
Mike set out to close that gap.
One early client liked his work so much they hired him away to run finance in-house. He came back. And when Kari joined him in 2016, the two began imagining how far the idea could go.
Bring growing companies the strategic finance only the big players used to have is the through-line that's never changed. What’s changed is everything we’ve built on top of it.
Then we tackled the systems holding growth back.
Growth-stage companies were so often held back by their own systems: the wrong ones, outdated ones, disconnected ones, or the right ones badly implemented. So we set out to help fix it. We pin down what the business truly needs, choose the systems that fit it now and can carry its growth, and steer the implementation toward the right decisions instead of the expedient ones. Get that right and systems stop being a limit. People do more, the business can scale, and the numbers finally become data leaders can trust.
Because the numbers were never the point. The outcomes they drive are.
Then we tied the numbers to the outcomes that matter.
Better reporting only revealed a harder truth: clients still couldn’t see ahead.
So planning became part of the work, and finance turned from a rear-view mirror into a windshield. But even a good plan stalls without a strategy behind it, clear ownership, and an honest read on what’s working.
That was the last piece to fall into place. Kari, who took the helm after Mike retired in 2021, saw that strategy was the missing link, and in 2025 Keddrick joined to lead it. The picture came together: strategy, planning, and execution, connected.
Now we’re leading with AI.
We’re doing what we did in 2010, all over again. Back then, the finance that gave big companies their advantage was out of reach for everyone else, and we set out to close that gap. AI is opening the same kind of gap today, and we’re closing it the same way.
We built Navigator, our AI platform that brings a depth of insight that used to belong only to companies with the biggest teams and budgets: reaching out from the numbers into the parts of the business they touch, from how well sales is really working to why customers stay or go, and back to the financial decisions that have always been our home ground.
Same mission as day one. New frontier.
This is what sets us apart.
We don’t hand you a menu of services. We bring a point of view on what finance is for, and a way to put it to work at any stage of your growth. Because the companies that pull ahead aren’t the ones with the best reports. They’re the ones whose finance helps them decide and move.
The aim never changes: tp take you past a finance function that reports the past, to one that helps you reach your goals, leave the sleepless nights behind, and build the company you set out to build.
